Maryland Libraries EDI Committee

The Maryland Libraries EDI Committee will focus on providing opportunities for professional development and support for library administrators on diversity, equity, and inclusion as it pertains to programming, employee relations, organizational development, and strategic planning. The Committee will focus on helping provide the tools needed for library administrators to be successful in advancing equity in their institutions. This includes school, academic, government, public, and special libraries in Maryland. 

How to get involved: 

Members are invited, with an eye toward diversity of library type and current group representation. 

 

Maryland Library Association Equity, Diversity & Inclusion Panel

MLA’s EDI Panel establishes and recommends procedures to the Association to enhance the diversity of the Association. The EDI Panel supports and assists MLA’s Executive Board, units and other associated bodies in being more welcoming and inclusive for all.

How to get involved: 

Members are selected by invitation only with particular attention to the type of library members are employed by, geographic location and position within MD libraries.

 

Maryland State Library EDI Community of Practice

The Maryland State Library's Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion (EDI) Community of Practice is a group of systemwide EDI team leaders across the state of Maryland. The community aims to offer support and guidance to EDI teams by sharing information and updates on the work of their systems, connecting members to relevant professional development opportunities, and developing recommendations and best practices for EDI teams. Members of the community of practice are committed to promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion in their libraries and strive to create welcoming, inclusive, and impactful systemwide EDI teams in libraries.

How to get involved

Members are leaders of systemwide DEI teams within their respective library systems.
