Cybersecurity Webinar for Public Libraries

At this one-hour-long webinar, we will hear from three representatives from the cybersecurity community about important programs and grant funding for Maryland public libraries. Each presenter has 15 minutes or so, leaving time for Q&A at the end. This webinar is sponsored by the Institute of Museum and Library Services, the only federal agency with dedicated grant funding for museums and libraries.

Oliver Pandian, Cybersecurity State Coordinator, CISA
Oliver Pandian serves as the Cybersecurity State Coordinator (CSC) for Maryland as part of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency’s (CISA) Integrated Operations Division (IOD) staff within Region Three (3). He is an experienced security officer with a demonstrated history of working in government and industry. He is skilled in evaluating organizational risk and providing guidance.

Dave Johnston, Supervisory Detective Protective Security Advisor, CISA
Dave Johnston serves as a Supervisory Protective Security Advisor with the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), within the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. As a Certified Protection Professional (CPP), he works with a team of security and resiliency professionals across the CISA mission portfolio, supporting physical, cyber, and communications security with the private & public sectors in the States of Maryland, Delaware, and Southeast Pennsylvania; ensuring the protection of Americans and our Nation’s critical infrastructure.

Travis Edwards, Director of Local Cybersecurity, Department of Information Technology (DoIT)
Travis Edwards currently serves as the Director of Local Cybersecurity with the Maryland Department of Information Technology (DoIT). In his 10th year with the State, he continues to support both State and Local governments in their security programs to defend against cyber threats and has fortified the security of State systems. His current work supports cybersecurity needs in Maryland counties, public schools, and municipalities. (Please see Travis' slides below.)
