Rural Library Resources

Rural Libraries in America: An Infographic Overview

In FY2017 IMLS made available an infographic and workbook presenting analyses of rural public library services and indicators. State details tables and worksheet as well as the infographic can be downloaded from the above webpage.


The Rural Library Service & Social Wellbeing Project 

Used a mixed-methods approach to demonstrate the impact that rural libraries have on communities. In addition to presenting case studies, the project is also developing qualitative tools for measuring outcomes and impact. Project introduction webinar: Libraries Build Pathways to Wellbeing.

Research Institute for Public Libraries

RIPL began in 2015 as an immersive, bootcamp-style event for public library staff to learn practical methods for gathering, analyzing, and using data for planning, management, and communicating impact. 

This project was made possible in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
